Since opening its doors in May 2007, Sosta Cucina has consistently impressed and excited Melbourne’s food community with a traditional meets contemporary Italian menu.

Sosta Cucina’s menu is constantly evolving; incorporating the best seasonal produce as well as showcasing fantastic Italian products. On offer is a selection of daily additional dishes depending on what is sourced at the market! Sosta prides itself on a great selection of fine Italian wines as well as offering a broad selection from Australia’s most renowned wine regions.


Un Pranzo in Panzano - Sunday 17th August 2014 @ 12.30pm

Sosta Cucina, in conjunction with Trembath & Taylor, are extremely excited to be hosting our very first wine luncheon, where we are celebrating Chianti & Panzano – the centre of Chianti Classico.  The basics are the same; an abundance of good food accompanied by five sensational wines, however being an Italian lunch, it will be a far more casual affair.  Think family, share plates, communal tables and probably lots and lots of banter..

We have the privilege of being joined by Josephin Cramer & Jarkko Peränen, from Candialle vineyards.  These vineyards are nestled below the historic village of Panzano in Chianti in the famous Conca d’Oro, the valley of the ‘Golden Shell’, long considered one of Tuscany’s ‘grand crus’.  The vines here benefit from the valley’s mesoclimate and natural wide open spaces.  The soil composition, high in Galestro (a marl-like soil) with a small amount of Albarese limestone, is a combination of the regions finest.

Josephin and Jarkko take a holistic approach to their ‘agro ecosystem’, employing environmentally friendly cultivation methods to strictly control yields, essential factors in ensuring the uniqueness of Candialle wines.

The perfect way to really experience Sosta flavours!  Five magnificent courses that the chef has to offer so you can sit back and enjoy what we do Sosta style!  And only $80 per person, with the option of matching wines for each course (additional charge), just ask your waiter!  Please note this is available for bookings of 2 – 10 pax only.
