In the heart of North Melbourne’s burgeoning food precinct sits Sosta Cucina, a welcoming space delivering fine Italian cuisine with warm and familiar service.
Since opening its doors in May 2007, Sosta Cucina has consistently impressed and excited Melbourne’s food community with a traditional meets contemporary Italian menu.
Sosta Cucina’s menu is constantly evolving; incorporating the best seasonal produce as well as showcasing fantastic Italian products. On offer is a selection of daily additional dishes depending on what is sourced at the market! Sosta prides itself on a great selection of fine Italian wines as well as offering a broad selection from Australia’s most renowned wine regions.
Sosta, in conjunction with Trembath and Taylor, are delighted to have Gianfranco Sabbatino from Le Casematte and Hauner wineries in town for his first visit down under.
Last year, Michael Trembath spent a week with Gianfranco touring north eastern Sicily – Messina, Aeolian Islands, Taormina and Etna. Gianfranco’s love for this part of Sicily is totally infectious. His own winery, Le Casematte, is in Faro – one of Italy’s smallest DOC’s. Gianfranco is also the long serving General Manager of Hauner and somehow finds the time to be a successful restaurateur.
We have an opportunity to showcase six of his magnificent wines, accompanied by six courses, designed to complement the wines and be true to the region. See below and attached for menu.
